Hi. My name is Crystal and I’m passionate about helping people connect to themselves and to others.

Today I want to talk to you about three different ways to help keep your kids emotionally healthy. 

Recently, I had the chance to go with my son. And we went to do something that he really loves. And that was to go to a shooting range and to shoot some of the guns that he has. Now, for me, I’m not really familiar with guns. They make me a little bit nervous, to be honest. And it was not something that I had ever done before. So, it created a little bit of anxiousness in me, but because it was something that was important to him and something he enjoys, then I decided that it would be best to go with him to be able to spend that quality time to help him be happy.

So, the first step in keeping your kids emotionally healthy is to spend quality time with them. Going into their world, doing something they love. Sometimes we think about doing things that we want to do instead of finding out what things they want to do. And even if it’s something that we don’t like, the best thing to do is go into their world and spend quality time with them doing what they love. This will strengthen your relationship and bond with them and help them feel loved and cared for in a way that nothing else could do.

The second way to help keep your kids emotionally healthy is to keep their immune system healthy. When we feel good physically, then we are happy emotionally. So, the first thing I’d recommend is to do things like, reduce sugar intake, increase fruits and vegetables, take vitamins, take your probiotics, which helps boost the immune system in the gut. Diffuse essential oils to help lift the mood and combat germs that are in the house.

The third thing you can do to help keep your kids emotionally healthy is to get out and move your bodies. Finding something you can do out in nature, even if it’s a little bit colder. Putting your coats on, dressing warm, shoveling snow, making snow angels, going skiing or ice skating, or maybe you go indoors somewhere and you go play basketball, or go to a rec center and play pickleball. Whatever it is you can find to do, get out and move your body, and if it can be in nature, even better especially if the sun is shining so you can take in the Vitamin D to help uplift their mood.

I notice a huge difference in my son when I apply these three principles with him. He is much happier and much healthier. So, my invitation to you is to take the time to spend quality time with your kids, do what you can to help keep their immune system up, and help them get out and move, get in nature and move their body.
