There is no doubt that I love the holiday season! I love the time I get to spend with my family. I love the parties and the Christmas concerts. I love the food! I love the time of year to focus on gratitude and showing my love for others.

But even with energies being at their highest, I can sometimes have the lowest of lows. It can happen in a matter of minutes, depending on the situation. The holiday season brings joy and happiness, but it can also bring feelings of loneliness, disappointment, stress, and sadness.

I know everyone deals with these kinds of emotions during the holidays, so here are a few tips I’d like to share that helps me stay zen and manage stress during this festive time of year.

TAKE A BREAK.

It’s so easy during the holidays to think you have to be everything to everyone, to feel pushed to your limit with your mental health and to not get the rest or “me time” that you need. The whole intention behind the holidays is for everyone to take a break from working and come together to celebrate life and find some sense of gratitude for the moments you receive with loved ones. The better you are at taking time for yourself, even if it’s just a few minutes during the morning, day or evening, the better you are to everyone else around you.

Roll Neroli over your heart and Magnolia on your wrists and take in 3 deep breaths. Neroli can help reduce stress, feelings of anxiousness or anxious feelings, and feelings of self-doubt or sadness. When inhaled, neroli oil may help the brain release serotonin, and reduce levels of cortisol, a stress hormone. Magnolia can help relieve stress-related tension, reduce feelings of anxiousness or anxious feelings and ultimately relax the mind and body to instill a sense of wellness and vitality.

DON’T TAKE THINGS PERSONALLY.

Remember that everyone is going through their own experience during the holidays. It represents different things to different people. Your job is not to take on anyone else’s emotions and energies but your own.

Step away for a few moments and imagine yourself releasing any energies or emotions that do not belong to you. Breathe in Forgive to help you process your feelings. Journal. The simple act of writing and connecting with yourself can easily help you lighten your load. Diffuse Balance in the main area of your home.

Forgive helps counteract negative emotions that may arise from undesirable situations. It helps you feel grounded and content. Balance can ease anxious feelings and create a soothing and calming environment, encouraging strong relaxation. It promotes feelings of balance and tranquility.

SLEEP DEEP.

It’s proven that if you sleep deep your energy is restored, cells regenerate, the blood supply is increased to muscles, and growth and repair of tissues and bones are enhanced. So I diffuse Serenity and Breathe at night to ensure I have a restful night’s sleep.

Serenity promotes relaxation, encourages calm emotions and lessens feelings of tension. It aids in reducing everyday stresses and promotes a relaxing night’s sleep. Breathe maintains feelings of clear airways and easy breathing while minimizing the effects of seasonal threats. It helps calm the senses and promotes a restful sleep.

IMPERFECTLY PERFECTLY.

Remind yourself that you are an imperfectly perfect being and there is no need or intention for you to do anything just right. Some things you will absolutely get done beautifully and other things won’t quite feel or look the same. That’s ok. It’s all perfect, just as it is. There is no need to add any extra demands or stresses to yourself during this time.

Apply Adaptiv to the bottom of your feet and the back of your neck. Set an intention or say a prayer before any holiday event, hosting, activities or even cooking. Simply setting your intention can allow you to feel that you’re intending to do your best and you have now called in that which you intend to receive. Adaptiv calms and promotes positive feelings, supports mood and helps improve the state of mind, helps when acclimating to new surroundings and adapting to stressful situations, encourages relaxation and promotes mental well-being.
